When we walk down the street together, everyone wants to chat

Ans (89) and Isa (22) have been matched for over a year now. Their official programme with the senior-student foundation was completed after six months, but the two get along so well that they're still meeting up half a year later.

Isa, a Criminology student, signed up because she wanted to do her part in reducing loneliness among seniors. Ans was looking for company and a listening ear.

Ans originally comes from Brabant and had to adjust when she moved to Amsterdam in the 1950s. She later worked in various fashion shops — her love for fashion has never faded.

At 89, Ans still looks charming, with polished nails and rosy cheeks. Together with Isa, she loves walking through the city. "When we walk down the street together, everyone wants to chat."
