About us

Careibu was founded in 2009 in Amsterdam by the sisters Lotte (1986) and Anne (1987) van Oudheusden. Their mission: ‘We started with the Careibu Babysitter community from our student rooms in Amsterdam. It started as a simple idea, but it developed into an international network of more than 30.000 students. Our mission is to bring people together, who really fit together.’

After several years of preparation, Careibu expanded to Berlin in May 2018. Our German team has been working enthusiastically to build the community in Berlin and create social impact through the students and families we bring together.

  • We work with students: Smart, lively, caring and eager to learn.

  • We focus on personal matches. Find a student or family that really fits you.

  • We build long-term relationships. Through our network you will find a long-term babysitter or family.

  • Essential to us is reliability. Our babysitters are screened and have prior experience working with children and families, so that we can provide you with trustworthy care.

Rosa (Community Manager)

Our Dutch community manager Rosa builds and maintains the Careibu community in Berlin. She excels in problem-solving and is always available for questions. In her time off, she spends hours baking in the kitchen or discovering Berlin on her bike.

Andy Kaiser (Country Manager)

As country manager and co-founder, Andy is responsible for many things in Berlin; but the quality of the Berlin Careibu community is always his focus. A holistic cooperation with the larger community of families in Berlin achieves a positive social impact in Germany. In his spare time, Andy restores old bicycles and spends time with his family and friends.

Careibu Team (Amsterdam)

The Berlin team is actively supported by the Careibu team in Amsterdam and the Dutch community. We are proud to be part of an international, experienced and dedicated team.
